House Beer Release: Van Dyke Brown

19
Jun 2018
Tuesday
11am

This summer we are bringing our happy little brown ale, Van Dyke Brown. Named after one of Bob Ross’ paint colors, this beer is inspired to be deep with flavor yet drinkable in the Texas heat. This years batch of VDB(as we call it around here) is brewed with locally grown and malted Blacklands Malt from Leander, TX. Toasty, biscuity and light caramel flavors make this beer a well rounded treat.

House Beer Release: It’s Not a Pneuma!

Thursday
11:00am

It’s Not a Pneuma! The name says it all. We took our West Coast inspired pale ale recipe, Pneuma, and transformed it into not that. We took a large dose of Citra, Amarillo and Cascade hops and threw them in at the end of the boil. Next, we dry hopped it with even MORE Citra and Amarillo. Finally, we dry hopped it AGAIN with Citra Cryo hop powder and more Amarillo. Needless to say, this strong pale ale is packed with juicy, citrus hop character that should blow your taste buds away. 6.0%ABV 27IBU

Sip & Support Fundraiser for Texas Land Conservancy

26
Jun 2018
Tuesday
5:00pm

Join Texas Land Conservancy as we bring the Austin community together to shed light on the importance of land conservation for the health of our water systems. Our partners at Black Star Co-op will be donating $1 for every rational beer sold (see list of participating beers when you get to the event) to TLC and our mission to protect the land, water, and wildlife of Texas. So come on out, bring all your friends, and support Texas land with an ice cold beer during this month’s Sip & Support!

What does beer have to do with land conservation?
Private land conservation plays an important role in making sure that everyone can use the water that flows through our state for drinking, recreation…and yes, beer! Access to clean water is a basic human right, and many of our great Texas rivers are threatened by pollution and over-use. Since there is water in beer, it’s not just your drinking water that’s threatened—your beer is, too.
